What Reach Out is
Reach Out is a service to the church of the Lord Jesus Christ to provide information on short term and part-time mission opportunities. It facilitates advertisers of short-term outreaches to link up with Christians who are interested to become involved in those outreaches. It also provides relevant information for those who wish to pray for outreaches.

Why “Reach Out” ?

Awareness: To help Christians in South Africa become aware of the need, opportunities and resources available for short-term evangelistic outreaches.

Service: To serve Churches and mission organisations through the publication of their information and the encouraging of prayer for their outreaches.

In the past Reach Out was printed yearly as a guide. We are very grateful to have Reach Out on the web since 2002. Apart from tremendously cutting down on costs, the electronic version enables us to update the information more often and to render a more efficient service.


HOW TO…

...find the outreach that you would like to join: Browse the Reach Out database.

...pray effectively for mission projects: Under the sections “description” and “prayer requests” on the Reach Out database you will find relevant information on the prayer needs of each outreach.

...advertise on our website: Type the following details onto our database:
Name of the project; co-ordinating body; dates; if repeated each year; target place; target group; description of outreach; language of communication; preparation needed; starting point; expected costs; deadline for application; name, address, telephone & fax numbers for enquiries; web address; prayer requests.

Criteria:

Our focus is outreaches that are short-term and evangelistic in nature. Involvement of two years or less should be possible and evangelism must be a significant part of the outreach. We reserve the right to edit or not to place entries.
